I've been traveling!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I've been traveling. I went to Denver to attend the birthday party of my dear friend Jae. That's me and her above.

I was supposed to fly back on Sunday, but for some reason every time I fly into Colorado, my return Sunday flight gets cancelled. This is the second time it's happened to me. I suspect that a certain major airline doesn't really fly out of Colorado on Sunday's but they don't want to let anyone know because that might hurt their business.

While I was in Denver, I got to stay with my father and bonus mom, Peggy. Whenever Peggy and I get together, we like to cook.

We were also celebrating my sister-in-law, Lauren's birthday so we made some food for a family get-together.

We made The Pioneer Woman's Hummus, which I swear is the best hummus ever. If you haven't tried this yet, you simply must make this now.

We made cute poppyseed poundcake muffins. I'll post more about these on another day.

We made chicken bread salad as the main dish item. I forgot to take a finished picture of this, but I've posted about this before. This dish is a winner.

And Peggy made the most wonderful triple layer chocolate cake. Isn't it beautiful?

I won't be posting the recipe for this because it had way too many steps for my short attention span.

I had to help lick, er, I mean clean all of the beaters after each layer. It's a tough job, but I was so glad that I was able to help out.

Being in Colorado gave me some new subjects to photograph.

For example, here's Ms. Kitty. Isn't she regal?

Here's Mr. Coby. He is quite the character.

But my favorite subject has to be Maverick. Here he is waiting on a crumb of sliced bread - which he knows he will get - but he patiently waits until it hits the floor. He has such good manners.

And here he is cleaning up every last crumb. Such a good dog!

I love how he has one partially white paw.

After a while, he tired of the paparazzi treatment that I was giving him. He could only smile for so long.

So, I'm back home now, and things will get back to normal in a bit.

Thanks to Jae for having a wonderful party (and inviting me)!

Thanks to David & Lauren for welcoming us into your lovely new home.

Thanks to Erin and John for driving out and spending the afternoon with us.

Thank you to Dad & Peggy for letting me stay at your place, and special thanks to Peggy for driving me all over the state of Colorado.
